Is FTP Down?

I'm trying to download a copy of a website using FileZilla to a folder on by Desktop. Everything seemed to be working fine until it suddenly disconnected. My FTP client is has been trying to reconnect to complete the download but all I'm getting over and over in the status window is the following:
Could not connect to server
Status: Delaying connection for 5 seconds due to previously failed connection attempt...
Status: Resolving address of (my web ftp site)
Status: Connecting to (ip address and port)...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Error: Could not connect to server

If I ping the IP Address given, it error's out. Is something not working now with FTP?

Maybe your IP address has been blocked by the server. What's your server?

Deb. Why would it be blocked by the server? 3/4 of the download completed before this happened.

It could be blocked if your FTP client opened too many simultaneous connections, but as far as I see, your IP is not blocked. I would advice you to open a ticket so our technicians will take a look.

It looks like the trasfer has started up again but there is a large delay between file transfers and now I'm getting the following:

In is entering Passive Mode and I think this is causing the problem, but I could be wrong.
