I can see your point, but remember that lots of scammer sites put those logos on their sites and they have no SSL at all or they make a convincing looking popup which is hosted on their domain that says everything is 100% safe.
When dealing with SSL don't rely on site logos unless you are an advanced user and can spot a fake a mile away. You should be looking at the SSL certificate properties in your browser, and looking at the URL in the address bar to see if it matches the site you are visiting and no other warnings are thrown. It is good to educate users on the proper usage of SSL and to not rely on the logos.
I have a feeling eventually the only SSLs that are sold will be EV certs which eliminate a lot of the guesswork since the addressbar turns green in all modern browsers.
I agree and we will be definately be calling them on it to see if anything can be done.
