Accounts with usernames that begin with A-F are done.

    G-Z remain.

If you are one of the users whose account is marked as "Done" and you are seeing a default cPanel page, it means you tried to pull up your site before it was restored and have cached the default cPanel page.

Try clearing your browser cache or another browser if you see the default cPanel page.

    Email Problems:

May of you are reporting email problems. Email services are currently up and running. The most likely reason you cannot check email is that your device has cached data which it thinks the mail server is offline. The way to fix that is to clear the DNS cache on your particular system or device.

If you need immediate email access to email, before you spend time trying to release DNS cache (which can be a PITA on some devices like iPhone or other Apple products), please login to your webmail interface in cPanel or by typing yourdomain.com/webmail into your browser.

"yourdomain.com" is an example, and you should use your actual domain name in it's place.

Your username is your email address, and your password is the password for that email address that you set when you created the email address in your cPanel. If you forgot the password, you can always reset it in cPanel to re-gain access.

Just remember to update your email readers and mobile devices with the new password after doing so or you may temporarily block yourself from the server by trying to login too many times with the wrong user/password combo.

Here is how to clear your DNS Cache on some example operating systems

For some mobile devices, a "Battery Pull" may be required. You may also need to reboot your router on some wireless (wifi) networks.

Unfortunately this is one of the last steps, along with GD-Library and some other common modules.

We need to recompile PHP, but that cannot be done while accounts are unpacking. Well, it could, but it is not safe to do so. We don't want to put too much load on the server as both unpacking backups and recompiling PHP are resource intensive processes.

Sorry for the delay on those items...

    A-M are now done.
N-Z are pending. There were lots of large accounts in the M range.

If any accounts had SSL certificates, please check them to make sure they are working properly after your account has been restored. If it is malfunctioning, please open a ticket at the helpdesk.

We are getting closer guys. Sorry for those of you who happen to have usernames near the end of the alphabet.

    A-R just finished up.
    S-Z remain.

We will have one last update when the A-Z's are completely done, at which point we will begin installing all the additional special software like GD, Zend, ImageMagick, Ioncube, etc which some of your site's may require.

We are also going to take the opportunity to update PHP to PHP 5.3. This may have compatibility issues with some of your sites which have scripts on them which have not been updated (or never updated).

As a reminder you should always be running the latest version of your scripts to prevent (among other things) hacks to the site, but also to ensure you are always compatible with the latest server side software. Outdated scripts are the number one cause for hacked web sites, so please keep that point in mind.

Just remember to take a manual backup in your cPanel before attempting any software updates. That way if something goes wrong, you can restore the site to how it was before while attempting to find the reason for any updates which may go wrong, as they sometimes do.

If you want something interesting to read about this very topic while you are waiting for the server to be finished up, head over to our blog.

After flushing my dns, I am still not able to check my email. My browser gave me a warning about the certificate when I tried to access cpanel. I went ahead and tried to log into cpanel and was unable to. Any suggestions?

    Hi Stickman,

You can safely bypass that warning. It will go away soon after we are done unpacking the accounts. If you are unable to login to cPanel, try changing your password that you have stored in your myGlow account manager under the section called "manage My Domains."

    Then try the auto-login there.

If that doesn't work out for you, please open a ticket at our helpdesk.

    Thanks
