Using FileZilla For SFTP (or FTPS . . .) to GlowHost

Hi,

I have successfully connected with my account via plain old FTP using FileZilla. However, I'd appreciate some guidance for how to set up a secure version of FTP:

1) FTPS -- I can't find anything in cPanel related to setting up FTPS, although apparently "Olga" has been updated to support TLS. Or something.

2) SFTP -- I'm not sure how to configure SFTP at all -- do need to generate a certificate or something -- or is it all handled by GlowHost and FileZilla? Here is the FileZilla message I get:
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Connecting to domainname.com:22...
Response: fzSftp started
Command: open "admin@domainname.com@domainname.com" 22
Error: ssh_init: Network error: Permission denied
Error: Could not connect to server
Or do I need to open up Port 22 for TCP in both firewall and router? I have in fact done this for the firewall.

Full documentation "for newbies" somewhere would be great, although I've looked diligently and not been successful so far. The kind of documentation which takes you all the way through would be great, you know the kind that includes a reminder to check if the plug is in ...

Tutorial for connecting to FTPS using FireFTP

I do not have FilieZilla on this machine but the process should be the same. I will try to get it installed tomorrow and see if there are any differences.

Please note - SFTP is no longer supported on shared servers. This thread remains for reference purposes only. GlowHost recommends using FTPs instead.

Current settings in FileZilla (which when I get them right I'll send back for everyone):

Host ftp.mydomain.com
Port blank
Servertype FTPES - FTP over explicit TLS/SSL
Logontype Normal
User my cPanel username
Password my cPanel password
Transfer Setting passive

I also had to say at one point that I approved a certifcate.

"Login authentication failed"

That means either your username or password is typed incorrectly.

Just FYI any readers of this thread, FileZilla confirmed to work fine with FTPS. Have not yet fully explored SFTP. You can see separate thread summarizing difference between the two...
