By default your machine should be set to US Eastern.

What do you mean you are redlining your usage? Did you ever change the default hosting plans or allowed transfer in your WHM after you migrated to the dedicated?

According to what? The specification of your dedicated server which should be 1500 to 3000 gigs of transfer or according to the hosting package you see in your cPanel?

when i look at the cpanel for motorbicycling.com on the left side is a couple bars. maybe i am not reading it right or something. it has a bar for both bandwidth ussage and also diskspace ussage and they are both way up thier. however when i go into the other site i have it says i have tons of room left so i am not sure how to interpet it. both are on my dedicated server. i hope i am worried and panicing for nothing

Why not use your WHM to upgrade the site? If your server comes with 2000 gigs of transfer then if that same server had 2 sites on it, I would allocate 1000 gigs to each site, or, 1500 to one and 500 to the other based on each site's individual needs making sure you do not over-allocate what your dedicated server comes with so that you do not get billed for transfer overages.

The WHM welcome letter should explain how to make packages in WHM. Do you still have that?

1024 megs is 1 gig in real life.

In hosting however we usually use 1000 megs = 1 gig so if it says 4000 megs that is only 4 gigs that you have allocated to the site.

I'd set it to 100000 for now which will give you 100 gigs which should be more than enough for quite some time.
