    Default File Names

I named some files all goofy like when I didn't know any better and now I can't delete them from file manager.

    The file name is D&C_Budget.htm

I get this when I try to delete it:
File Type: Can't stat `D' (No such file or directory)

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
    John

Its an issue in cPanel's file manager where "strange" names cannot be removed. Generally things that have spaces in the name or strange characters like # $ & etc.

However, did you try to delete them using FTP? Usually that works.

If FTP won't do it for you, you can open a ticket with the names of the offending files you want deleted and we will remove them for you.

Glad it worked out for you. I was thinking maybe you could rename them in cPanel file manager, then delete them from there perhaps. Never tried that method but it might work too.

In any case sounds like FTP works so that is good

I tried the rename thing from teh cPanel but that failed as well. As soon as you click on the file name it errors out...

The & is a reserved character for URLs that divides parameters. cPanel fails to URL-encode its parameters, so this creates problems using HTTP to pass valid linux filenames to a url without proper encoding.

    This is a cPanel bug.
