Default Capturing Form Data in a MySQL Databse

I hope this is the correct area to post this question. We currently have a contact form on our web site and would like to capture the form data somehow for future reference. Is there a way to setup capturing data from our current contact form to an Access or MySQL database or will we need to recreate the form to accommodate saving the form input? Any help or information is greatly appreciated.

Its certainly possible to make a form that puts that sort of information into a MySQL database, using PHP. Sounds like you might need a programmer to make this for you, or perhaps there are some scripts on the Internet that do this already.

I'd do a search for "php mysql contact form" on google. I will move this thread to the programming forum, you might get some responses in there.

    Default Capturing Form Data

Thanks Mat. I'll check the programming area for a possible answer.

Here are a ton of form processors, surely one of them will suit your needs.

Also some more resources on google:

    Mat,
Found this as a possible PHP soulution (and it looks like it's free!) at: http://php.resourceindex.com/detail/06757.html

Clicking the AFC-MYSQL Contact Form will take you to the page below.

Is this something you would have to install?

You can install it, you can hire someone to do it, or we can install it for you, its up to you.

If we do it there would be a programming/installation/configuration service fee since it is 3rd party software.

Thanks for the information Mat. I downloaded the scrip to my local machine and read the setup text file. It looks pretty straight forward, but just in case, what are your fees for install/config.

$100/hour for script installs, I'd guess yours will take 15-30 minutes.

    Mat,
Thanks so much for all your help. I guess this is a classic example of "if all else fails, read the directions!). I was browsing the Fantastico scrips and found phpFormGenerator which looks like it will do everything I was asking about. It appears I will have to recreate the contact form for it to work, but that's a minor inconvenience. Again, thank you for all your help, Glowhost is the best!.

No problem, that is great news!

I have never looked into that package so good to hear it meets your requirements.
