    Default test website stats question

I am finally comfortable enough with my reseller account to take on a customer. I setup a account and uploaded a couple sample pages to it so I can show my potential customer. The site and cpanel show up fine using the IP addressing. My question is why isn’t there any site stats available? There isn’t even a domain listed to view stats for. Does the site have to be live online for there to be stats? Or does it just take more than a couple days for there to be any stats available?

    Thanks for your help here.

Is this a dedicated server, VPS or shared server?

In the user's cPanel under "Choose Log Programs" do you have the ones that you want, enabled?

All are locked by the administrator, the same as my other accounts. But the other accounts have the stats for all of them even though they are locked. I couldn't find any setting for the stats in the account packages or anything in the documentation.

Stats can't be updated for your domain since its log file is empty. Once you point the domain to our server and visit the site, log file will be updated. Hence cPanel will be able to update stats for this account.

So, the site has to be live before stats are logged? I visited the site via the site IP (###.###.###.###/~account user name/) reloading it many times and jumping between pages via links to try to generate some stats a couple days ago. If it has to be live, that would explain why I couldn't simulate an active website.

If you access the site via a temporary link, the main server log is updated (not the log for your website). Thus you should access the site using the direct link yourdomain.com and log/stats will be updated for your domain.
