    Default Scheduled Maintenance on Charlie Server - Feb 18

    Dear Valued Customers,

    As part of our commitment to provide top quality web hosting services, maintenance is required and has been scheduled for the following server.

    Please read these details carefully:

    Server Name: Charlie
    Service Date: Wednesday, 18 February, 2015
    Service Window: 1 AM to 5 AM
    Details: As part of routine maintenance, the server must be rebooted for changes to be applied. There will be an expected downtime of up to 30 minutes.
    Expected Downtime: 30 minutes

    This means work will begin at some point during this time specified in the service window above, unless unexpected situations arise. During this service window, your site may go temporarily offline. If we are unable to start the maintenance before the service window closes, it will be re-scheduled for the next day at the same time.

    As always, we recommend that you have local copies of your web site in the event of unforeseen issues which may result in complete and total data loss on the server. While we do not anticipate this to be an issue, it is always a wise choice to have copies of your web site in multiple locations.

    You can make copies of your web site using the backup option in your cPanel.

    We have finished the required maintenance, downtime was less than 5 minutes.

    Getting a 500 error on at least three of several sites, not gonna check the rest. Been having a problem with 16 wordpress sites.

    A server reboot should not cause the error code you are speaking about. Do you have a ticket opened at our helpdesk yet? We'd be glad to help you once we have the ticket and know the name of the domain(s) in question.

    Alexander S. Replied to my ticket 30 minutes ago saying he was looking at it.
    I see nothing in the server error log, despite repeated 500 errors.

    Meanwhile I've changed php version for your account from 5.5 to 5.3 native. This brought your websites back online.

    No clue what this means, I guess I'll search Google.

    Hello Robin,

    If you're not sure exactly what Alexander's reply means, the best place to ask would be in that same support ticket that you already have open.

    However, to answer your concern - it simply means he changed the PHP version that your account was running on temporarily while the issue was corrected. This allowed your websites to be online and active even while he was still working.

    Additionally, Alexander has confirmed in the ticket that the issue was corrected and everything is functional at this time.

    We appreciate your patience in this matter and apologize for the inconvenience.

    Good Day & Hallo to everyone. I am a Lady Admin/Site Owner (But Tech-Admin in training!), so I am not as tech savvy as you guys. so BE GENTLE with me please...simple answers I can understand...LOL

    However I have also been having probs on my server in the past week, (whilst you guys were doing your maintenance), which were resolved yesterday.

    But since your maintenance was completed I have an error in my Admincp -;

    New threads in moderation queue wont validate, normally only 1st 3 threads should go into moderation,
    but a new member's threads have all gone into Moderation...Any idea how to solve this please?

    I have done a lot of reading and saw it may be something to do with GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic.....

    I never had this prob before and wonder if it was something to do with your maintenance update or maybe my server problem, or perhaps I have to update GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic??

    I normally would have started a new thread about this, but as it may be related to the topic in this thread, I posted this in here.
