    Default Scheduled Hardware Maintenance (Romeo Server) - 1st April, 2025 (US Eastern Time)

    This is an important scheduled maintenance notice from GlowHost which affects the romeo.gendns.com server in our PhoenixNap location. Please read the following information carefully.

    Please be advised that on April 1st, the Romeo server will undergo hardware maintenance. The purpose of this maintenance is to replace system hard disk, which is showing signs of reduced efficiency.

    Maintenance Window: Maintenance will begin on April 1st (Monday) at 2:00 AM Eastern. Maintenance is expected to conclude at 4:00 AM Eastern.

    Numerous precautions are in place to ensure that the maintenance happens as seamlessly as possible. While we do anticipate an interruption to the services while the storage is being replaced, we do ask that you prepare for potential downtime of the full maintenance window in the case of unforeseen circumstances.

    As with any maintenance and at all times, all GlowHost clients are encouraged to make sure that they have downloaded recent backups of account data. In fact, making sure you have recent backups at all times is part of best practices when maintaining a web site.

    The maintenance has unfortunately run into unforeseen circumstances, and our technical staff are working hard to bring the services back online. The RAID array on the storage devices became faulty, which unfortunately led to an irrecoverable error.

    We're rebuilding the operating system, and will begin restoring backups after the system's software is installed and configured.

    We would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this extended maintenance has caused, and we assure you that our team is diligently working to bring the services back up.

    At this time, we are pleased to inform you that the services are restored and running as intended.

    What Happened?

    The issue was not immediately resolved upon replacing the drive, and the system was not successful in recognizing both storage devices.

    Because of this, we've had to prepare new drives, reinstall the entire system, and restore data from backups.

    What's Next?

    Please have a look at your website and let us know if you see any issues. As we've repaired the system and restored your data from the most recent backups, everything should be back up and running for you.

    Once again, we extend our sincerest apologies, and our team will continue to work hard in preventing these very rare circumstances from occurring again.
