Default What did I do wrong this time?

I'm trying to get my web site online and running into problem after problem (most of which are, no doubt, my own fault.) When I try to get to ftp.(mydomain).com, all I get is a page reading "Great Success! Apache is working on your cPanel and WHM Server" (etc.), which is a dead end. And the last couple of times I've tried to access my control panel through GlowHost, I've gotten a page reading "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" and recommending that I close out and not proceed to the site. Considering the fact that it's supposed to be my site, that does not make me feel all warm and fuzzy! (There's also the problem with the web pages I've uploaded not showing up in my browser, but I posted that one in the Web Design area.)

Any hints on what I've done wrong this time and how I can fix it? Please?

The security warning is typical MS BS. Ignore it.

The ftp message sounds like you are trying to use your browser for FTP, but it is going to http instead. Try downloading a free FTP program from download.com, or use the file manager in your control panel.

ftp.domain.com is a hostname for an FTP program. To me, it sounds like you are trying to access it in a web browser.

Do you have an FTP program installed yet? If not, when you install it, it will ask you for a Hostname. Then you will use ftp.domain.com in there, and it will work.

And the last couple of times I've tried to access my control panel through GlowHost, I've gotten a page reading
Can you tell me what you were trying to do? Were you trying to do like http://glowhost.com/cpanel instead of http://yourdomain.com/cpanel ?

Or were you trying something else, like the login area inside your MyGlow account manager, or the login thing, here?

    https://glowhost.com/login/cpanel.php

Please explain in detail and we can have a look to see.

You're right, I was trying to access the FTP program through my browser, and I don't have one installed yet.

With the "There is a problem with this website's security certificate" warning page, I was trying to get in through here: https://glowhost.com/login/cpanel.php, the GlowHost SSL Secured cPanel Login, by filling in my domain name, username, and password. I've gotten into my control panel that way before, so I'm not sure why it's giving me such a dire warning now. Here's the address of the warning: https://glowhost.com/login/docpanellogin.php

Thanks so much to both of you for your help!

Ok, I will test it out. Please tell me what server you are on or your domain name.

Sorry about the delay. My server is Missy and my domain name is curiousvolumes.com. Also, I have a ticket open on part of this based on Dmitriy's advice in another thread (a question about web design and uploading problems), so I understand if you'd rather hold off until the ticket is resolved.

You can ignore that warning, or login via your GlowHost account manager, OR, you can always use yourdomain.com/cpanel which will redirect you to cPanel with no certificate warnings.

    The warning is harmless.

Well, I've replied to your ticket about an hour ago. Saw no troubles. Matts' advice in the ticket will help resolve index page view. As of Word - I need a link to the file to check (as noticed in the ticket replies).
