    Default Pop-Up Problems

I have only had my website up for a few days, and I notice that everytime I go to the site, I get pop-up advertisements. I don't see them until I close my browser windows, and then there they are lurking in the background. We are a non-profit organization, and a couple of the pop-ups have not reflected our core values. Is there any way to make sure there are no pop-ups when people visit our site?

    Thanks,
    Liza

Sounds like a browser hijacking in your computer to me.

    Try this to clean it:

    Are you hosting with GlowHost?

If so, we don't put popups on peoples web site. You pay for hosting, not ads.

If you are getting pop ups then you have some spyware, malware or adware installed on your PC.

I suggest installing "ad-aware" from lavasoft AND "spybot - search and destroy" both of which are free programs and should rid your computer of whatever browser hijacker you have installed.

If you are not hosting with us then you'd need to ask your current web host about that problem.

Thanks for your help! It was exactly what you both said . . . err not the "jinx" and other stuff, but you know what I mean
I am using GlowHost to host my site, and the pop-ups were only happe eing when I would visit the site I created. I used the Trend Micro as suggested and threw in some Lava soft for good measure. Seems to have taken care of the problem.
    Thanks again!
