    Default WebDisk - very cool!

As I was leaving on a road trip this weekend, I had a client request to upload some large art files for a project.

I'm in the middle of packing, cleaning, printing directions, etc. and the last thing I wanted to take the time for was explaining the whole ftp upload process...and then....the light goes on! WEBDISK!

I created a user for the webdisk, saved the script as a zip file and emailed it to my client - within 10 minutes, I had a confirmation from the client that he had uploaded the files!

Yeah! Love the WebDisk! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Hmmm... will have to check that out. Do you have any tips to offer, or is it really that easy?

    Oh, John-Marc - so EASY!

When you create the user you can specify the directory, I did it as the username, then it automatically creates:
    user@domainname.com

It also automatically creates the directory folder in your public_html directory. (Though I'm sure you wouldn't want to make this publicly accessible and I plan on deleting it as soon as I download the files as I didn't password protect it.)

The client can just drag and drop files onto the server. So cool!

The only suggestion I really have is if you plan on emailing the script - create a zip file with the script as the email client may flag it as a virus or malicious script.
    Thank you,

One thing you might do is offer the setup script on your website to bypass any "would-be" email troubles that you might encounter getting the script to the client.

Good idea Matt, especially since I have the client area already created. I would just upload the script and then link to it from the page right?

    Thanks!

Only one way to find out, try it!

(But the answer is yes, create a link to your zip file and when the user clicks it, they will be prompted to download the file)
