Glad to see you are trying to conform to W3C standards. It's definitely an important goal even if its not achievable all the time.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks it should at least be a goal, if not achievable

As far as Flash is concerned have you seen this List Apart article/method to get Flash to show up and validate on XHTML pages:
