SEO Domain name question

Hello folks,

I was wondering if the domain extension matters for SEO. For example will mydomainname.nl rank higher then mydomainname.com in google.nl (meaning, localised search)? Or doesn't it matter.

Yes, I have found when travelling abroad that the .nl will come up nearly every time when I am in NL using the localized search.

most of the people search .com extensions....so traffic increase without SEO.....so .com is higher rank when compare to .nl....

Most people would first prefer the .com domain for every site. Thus you could say that domain extension matters for SEO.
Because it is a user-friendly experience and most of the search engine prefer the user experience
