This is an important scheduled maintenance notice from GlowHost that affects the Chicago (chicago.gendns.com) server in our Chicago (Illinois) location. Please read the following information carefully.

Please be advised that on August 19th, 2026, the Chicago server will be physically relocated a short distance to our new Chicago location in Elk Grove Village, IL.

Maintenance Window: Maintenance will begin on August 19th (Wednesday), starting at 9:00 PM US Eastern. Maintenance is expected to conclude at 9:00 AM US Eastern the following day.

Numerous precautions are in place to ensure that the maintenance happens as seamlessly as possible. While we are only moving the server to a nearby facility and do not anticipate downtime to last the entire maintenance window, we do ask that you prepare for potential downtime of the full maintenance window in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

As with any maintenance and at all times, all GlowHost clients are encouraged to make sure that they have downloaded recent backups of the account data. In fact, making sure you have recent backups at all times is part of best practices when maintaining a website.
