Default Exim on Nicole server down

Due to unforeseen problems Exim on Nicole server has gone down. After several unsuccessful attempts to bring it up back, we have opened ticket for Cpanel. They are working on this issue and do the best to resolve it.

Will update you again as soon as we get more information.

Also, how does this effect our email. Has everything for the past few hours been bounced back or should I recover all the emails that have been sent when everything is back up?

    Thnx again

There are no updates yet, none good anyways. We have tried to completely re-install the mailserver from scratch, we have removed the antivirus and tried another reinstall. We have copied config files from other working mail servers, but exim is still complaining of a bad configuration file.

We are about out of ideas here in a few the entire machine will likely be rebooted to see if it cures the issue and if that fails all we can do is wait for a cPanel dev to check it out.

cPanel technicians are working on the server Nicole to get the mail server working and we will update the thread once we get the updates from cPanel support.

This is the latest from cPanel -

This seems to be an issue with perl and library issues causing Exim to dump core.

I am in the process of resolving the problem.

It appears they are re-arranging some of the libraries on this machine so some services may be on and off for a little bit. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Here is the last update from cPanel

The first issue I had to resolve was a link for perl5 pointing to perl 5.8.0.

Now, the issue is with libraries.

I am trying to do my best to resolve this without affecting other applications
(and making all the backups I need, along the way).

I have some customers that they use the email as contract in their business, and they ask me for the emails if they are going to recieve the today's email?

Matt, this is very import to save the emails, because some of my customers are very upset and they don't understand the technical problems, they ask me to be this solve as soon as possible and how am I going to prevent this for the future.
