Could this have been a major DOS attack? I've had hiccups, but seems to be at the DC and just above level...

Maybe because Google threatened to pull out of China...

Yes, there was an DoS on the network which has been resolved. Hard to prevent those unless you are on a private switch, and its not your server that is being targeted on that switch.

This issue has been resolved as you can see.

We will be using Twitter for updates for a littel while for these types of issues.

Once we are more comfortable in the Dallas Datacenter and it is fully staffed, or the upcoming California Datacenter we will be moving the support site and/or forums for GlowHost to one of those locations so you guys can find us in addition to Twtter... though I still dont know why its not showing us in public right now.

GNAX DC2 is in Dallas but its not staffed 24/7 yet and I don't want to wait around for network admins to drive to the DC at 4 AM when a problem comes so we are not putting anything in Dallas yet until that issue is resolved. That is how the first GNAX was run many many years back and it was problematic at times. Moving forward I don't want to see those days again.

I have been waiting for sufficient staffing at DC2 for a while and it is very slow going that is why we are looking at other datacenters like the one in California. We want a reliable home to put other machines in geographically dispersed locations.

The California DC is undisclosed at this time and announcements will be made when it is ready for you guys.
