I was just curious how many days it takes for a domain to resolve?
Hello,
first of all, welcome to our forum and thanks for posting here. We hope that you'll find a lot of useful information here.
As a rule, domains are propagated several hour, but it can take even up to 48 hours. I'd suggest you to open a trouble ticket if the domain doesn't resolve in 24 hours, 99% that something is wrong in this case.
Ok, I thought it might be an issue! Thanks!
Sure, you are welcome.
Just a note:
Make sure you clear your cache or hit reload/refresh - sometimes the site doesn't appear to have resolved when it has and you are viewing an old version.
The super-secret trick is to never try to connect to domain.com via email reader or browser or ping or whatever until you have updated your NS and give it about 5 minutes and you should prevent any bad local caches on your PC or on your ISPs cache if they cache results.
NOT trying to connect until you have your NS set properly avoids the need to clear any caches since a cache was not created, since you did not try to connect before it was time.
Sorta like when Ma' smacks your hands when you are picking food out of the bowl in the kitchen as she is cooking it. You should wait until everything is ready and life will be good.
