    Matt,

It's kind of what I though was going on. As I said earlier in this thread, I thought this ISP was holding on for some reason. I was just told they were contacted by the ISP which was providing hosting to ask why the business moved.

    Matt,

Reset the router and cleared the local cache with no results. Will talk to the local ISP in the morning, right now the only people working are some high school kids that manly help out after hours.

Thanks for your help, as ever you and Glowhost are invaluable resources.

    Matt,

Everything is now OK. I was notified this morning the business email accounts are now working. You were correct, the ISP, which was also the old hosting company was still hosting the DNS. They finally removed the domain from their internal zone, (although reluctantly), and the email started working again.

    Thanks for all your help.

I had the very same problem when I started hosting ~10 years ago (I was mostly a hack designer back then) and it racked my brain for 3 weeks...

Same situation. A local, reluctant ISP had us in their folds and I am fairly sure they didn't know how to diagnose their own problem either.

Back then, we didn't have a lot of information or the resources that we have today. When I say "we" I mean the general public. Google was not even a search option then and reading newsgroups was a tedious process.

That's why older hosts were able to get away with charging $24.95 for 100 megs of space.

Ahhh, the good ole days. LOL!
