Yes, MySQL 5 is the default version that we load on the shared and reseller servers.

I will have to double check on your procedures, fucntions and views...my thinking is probably not on the shared servers due to cpanel restrictions (and security reasons)dedicated, sure.

Let me check with our database guy and see what he has to say on it.

The consensus is it will not work on cPanel in a shared environment because cPanel restricts access to these.

However on a dedicated server you can do this. With root you can bypass these restrictions which are available to you in MySQL 5

On a dedicated server, who does the upgrades on MySQL, you or the customer?

Well, to answer the OP stored procedures, functions, and views are not yet fully compatible with cPanel, HOWEVER we have dealt with enough cases of this where we have been able to tweak the system to allow for this. So even though cPanel does not support this, GlowHost will support sprocs views and functions in MySQL.

We also have asked cPanel to work on this and it sounds like they have started adding it into the EDGE builds and after some time we should see it on the more stable builds that cPanel offers.

Infoserv- MySQL is almost always handled by us, but if a customer wants to perform the upgrade, we have no problems with that.
