Default Difference between Unlimited Everything and Professional Star Shared accounts

Hi, I am considering combining and upgrading two of my accounts.

What is the difference between an Unlimited Everything account and a Professional 3 or 4 Star account?

It seems the Unlimited Everything has everything. Perhaps this question should be re-phrased as - What is offered in the Professional Star series of accounts that would make them worth the extra cost over the Unlimited Everything account?

I am sure that this is obvious, but the difference doesn't seem totally clear to me.

    Thanks, Kengele
    K

Because the market is trending for web hosts to offer "Unlimited" hosting we now offer it. Personally, I don't want to offer such plans but when you see 10 tickets from different people in the same day all leaving GlowHost for some known terrible host just because they offer "Unlimited" packages, well, it leaves us with no choice.

As everyone knows nothing is unlimited. Hard drives have limited capacity. And so does everything else even the magical cloud hosting which is the latest greatest buzzword.

At the end of the day, "Unlimited" plans have a lot more restrictions on them than a traditional shared hosting account.

Here are some of the things you cannot do, or have to worry about with an unlimited plan. This comes directly from our Terms of Service:

3.3. Special Provisions for Unlimited Everything!™ Shared Hosting Packages

3.3.1. Unlimited Shared Hosting Packages are not to be used as a backup service. All stored files that reside on the GlowHost server must be 100% linked content. Archiving of MP3, video, images or backups is prohibited on Unlimited Hosting packages. If you need these abilities we recommend that you upgrade to your own dedicated server or VPS from GlowHost.

3.3.2. Accounts that exceed 10 GB or 50,000 inodes will be removed from the backup service. We will continue to backup MySQL Databases regardless of overall account size even it account has been removed from weekly backup service.

3.3.3. Accounts that exceed 250,000 inodes will be asked to upgrade to a more suitable server such as a semi-dedicated server, VPS or dedicated server.

3.3.4. Unlimited Accounts are allowed to send up to 100 emails per hour.

3.3.5. Unlimited Accounts do not support FFmpeg and related libraries required for server-side video-to-FLV conversion or progressive download streams.

3.3.6. Unlimited Accounts may not be used for image hosting or photo gallery sites larger than 5 gigabytes.

3.3.7. Unlimited Accounts may not be used for software download, file sharing or software distribution sites larger than 5 gigabytes disk space and 100 gigabytes transfer per month. Please consider a dedicated server instead.

3.3.8. Unlimited Accounts may not be used for warez, software link generator, BitTorrent, software download (legal or illegal), or DNA sites.

3.3.9. Customers continually using excessive bandwidth may be asked to move and/or upgrade their service plan with GlowHost. Excess bandwidth consumption is determined by and enforced upon at the sole discretion of GLowHost with no prior notice being required.

3.3.10. Unlimited Account backups are generated one time per week, on Sunday. If you need higher backup frequency please choose any other package. All other packages include nightly backups.

Yeah, I know what you mean... people often sacrifice quality for price and which they usually short themselves greatly and inherit a ton of problems. Trust me... with hosting, you get what you pay for. Unlimited in this business usually means they have the cheapest of something possible. Why would they spend tons for great service then provide it for little to nothing and cost themselves money? Shame clients don't think about this.
