Unscheduled Network Maintenance / Outage in Binghamton Location (Nova Server)

This is an important notice from GlowHost that affects the Binghamton data center location. Please read the following information carefully.

Please be advised that on October 22nd, 2026, the Binghamton data center has experienced a networking incident which is currently being investigated.

Affected Servers: Nova (nova.gendns.com)

At this time, there is no maintenance window or ETA, but all staff are investigating this thoroughly.

We shall provide updates here as we learn more.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us via ticket. Our technical support team is available 24/7 to help.

At 1:41 PM Eastern Time, a cascading failure with the networks was detected. We've confirmed that there are no physical on-site issues, and the network issue appears to be external.

At 2:16 PM Eastern Time, it has been confirmed that all fiber providers leading to the facility have lost connectivity. Upstream providers have been contacted, and dispatched crews to the site.

We are aware of construction in the area, and we suspect that fiber connections may have been damaged at a convergence point. This has not been confirmed.

At 3:39 PM Eastern Time, all upstream providers have engaged the appropriate crews, and dispatches are actively being coordinated.

At 4:18 PM Eastern Time, all upstream providers have arrived onsite and are proceeding with tests to determine the location of the fault.

We unfortunately do not have an estimated time of resolution.

At this stage of the investigation, evidence suggests the issue is external. We will keep you posted on all progress of the investigation as we work to bring the network back online.

At 5:38 PM Eastern, teams are still investigating the location of the fault.

We will continue to provide status updates and update this notice as soon as this network incident is resolved.

Uniti/Windstream have identified a utility pole which was struck by a vehicle. The utility company has dispatched a crew to replace the utility pole. Once the pole is seated, Uniti/Windstream will begin splicing/repairing the fiber.

Lumen has also located a fault in their network which appears to be underground. A construction crew is en route to begin excavation so Lumen can splice/repair their portion of the network fiber.

We appreciate your continued patience while we wait for construction crews to work with the network carriers to bring the networks back online.

At 8:51 PM Eastern, an additional provider has been connected to the facility, but the network is limited. Full speed is not expected until one of the carriers at the convergence point restores service.

At this time, it's not possible to factor in an ETA when full connectivity will be restored. We will continue to post updates as we receive more information.

UPDATE: 20:51 eastern time. We have been able to establish connectivity via a tertiary provider. This connectivity is limited, so full speeds are not to be expected until at least one of our primary providers has restored service and latency is expected to be higher then normal.

UPDATE 22:27 eastern time. We have been advised that the construction crews will not be able to continue working overnight, and will have to come back at 9AM tomorrow (the 23rd) to continue working on replacing the pole. Once the pole has been replaced, then fiber crews can begin replacing the cable and splicing it in.

We are aware that construction crews are actively working on the pole, and that cable work should begin soon. We'll continue to keep you posted on all progress.

We will continue to route the network through the tertiary provider, however network speeds will remain degraded until the repairs are completed.

At this time, we know that construction crews are working on repairing damages, but the utility provider has not yet released the site for fiber installation.

Presently, the data center is routing connections through a tertiary connection, so service is accessible for most routes, but with degraded performance. We are still working with the facility to establish full connectivity.

We appreciate your continued patience as we wait for the utility company to complete the repairs at the convergence site.

UPDATE 10/24/2026 01:31 EDT. The Lumen reroute is now live. Services have been restored and are fully functional however higher latency is to be expected. We will be following up with all providers involved in this incident and a formal RFO will be available as soon as possible upon request (please allow 2-4 weeks for all information to be gathered).

The server is online, and I can see services are running fine. Please open a support ticket for any issues.
