File system check is still being performed on /vz
The machine is still running FSCK.
The server is still fscking and fixing system errors.
File system check is still in progress.
Still FSCK.
Sadly but File System check is still in progress.
Hi Sergey,
Is it normal to take over 24 hours in a system file check?
Just curious.
Thanks,
Amanda
Amanda,
That's not normal when it takes a long time to complete fscking. But sometimes it takes so long time when there are a lot of small files on the partition.
Do we have any updates to this problem?
Unfortunately, no, other than after the last fsck resulted in the /vz partition no longer mounted.
We are trying to figure out how to get /vz mounted because the system is refusing to allow this mount for some reason.
If it continues we may need to try another device all together but in the current state no data is recoverable, including backups. This is basically the same state as starting over on a fresh VPS with no data.
We know the data exists so we are trying to preserve it instead of starting from scratch.
Any more news yet please
We had to completely remove the journal because the last fsck failed. Once the journal was removed, fsck had to be run again. The last fsck just finished about 10 minutes ago and the journal is now rebuilding.
We are not sure if this will work but it is a last ditch attempt at trying to preserve data and the VE's without completely formatting the devices and reloading the OS, Virtuozzo, and cPanel or Plesk for each virtual environment.
It shouldnot be much longer now before we have an answer for you, but the answer may not be a good one as far as data preservation s concerned.
Good job guys, cpvps120-vern back on line and data seems to be intack.:waves:
