After a full diagnostics nothing was found to be to blame. There is a possible failing harddrive but it remains to be determined.

What we are planning is an upgrade of this machine to move all of you guys onto a newer stronger and faster box with RAID capability. That's going to take several days to be completed. If it does turn out to be a hard drive and the server fails again before we have the new machine built, we wont have much of a choice but to simply replace the main drive which can lead to downtime while backups are restored and the main drive is replaced.
