Hi I was wanting to change this usergroup from the mingle which I have already uninstalled to this new one which it says this

BuddyPress is almost ready. You must update your permalink structure to something other than the default for it to work.

I really prefer not to mess up this site since it has been doing so well and don't want to loose it but it says you can use anything? I am really confused. Why can't it just install quickly without any editing like I just did on another one.

I've enclosed a screen shot. What should I do here?

If you like the way it is now I would make a backup, then, click the link the plugin is asking you to click and change the structure. If you don't like it, load the backup and restore the original.
