Once again, thanks for all your help. I finally managed to contact my old host by telephone (they had misinformed me; it was only their billing department that was closed for the weekend.) They have supposedly changed the nameservers, and they gave me an authorization code.
Even though this issue is well on its way to being resolved, I still would not recommend my old host, BlueHost, to anyone.

:love: I have to add that I'm finally able to get to my web site via GlowHost. After such a huge headache, getting through all this, I can't tell you how happy I am to see that "Welcome to your new web site!" message!
