Deb Server Migration

Our Company has great news for those of our customers whose accounts are hosted on the shared server Deb. We've decided to replace this machine with brand-new and much more powerful server Kilo. This upgrade requires migration of cPanel accounts to the new server. The transfer procedure will be initiated today, within the time frame specified below.

We will keep you notified on the progress. Should you have any questions or comments, feel free to post them in this thread.

Please read these details carefully:

Server Name: Deb
Service Date: Saturday, 9 March, 2013
Service Window: 4 AM to 5 AM
Details: Deb Server Migration
Expected Downtime: 5 minutes

This means work will begin at some point during this time specified in the service window above, unless unexpected situations arise. During this service window, your site may go temporarily offline. If we are unable to start the maintenance before the service window closes, it will be re-scheduled for the next day at the same time.

As always, we recommend that you have local copies of your web site in the event of unforeseen issues which may result in complete and total data loss on the server. While we do not anticipate this to be an issue, it is always a wise choice to have copies of your web site in multiple locations.

You can make copies of your web site using the backup option in your cPanel.

Just an FYI - if you didn't already know - but it appears that the Deb Server is down again according to netstatus

Yes, we know about that. We can ensure you that if a server doesn't work we know about that in several minutes and take appropriate action.

As for the transfer, we are still moving the accounts. We will try to finish it as soon as possible.

An important notice for those who use deb.gendns12.com as mail servers in their mail clients. Please, update them to mail.yourdomain.com, where yourdomain.com is your domain name used for the email account in question.

Migration of cPanel accounts to server Kilo has already been completed. We've also stopped all services on Deb. If you experience any problems with your web hosting account please create a support ticket from your myGlow Account Manager and we will be happy to help you.
